Pillers was a clothing store when I was a kid, and has gone through many uses since then. Currently it is a charter school. I'm really glad this huge original sign has survived!
Every year before school started in the fall my dad would take me to Pillers to buy new clothes for school. As I recall there were rows as rows of clothes laid out on tables (only the really nice clothes were on hangers) and a nice old lady would help us find my size. We started going to Pillers because I did not want the clothes that were in the Sears catalog - I wanted to try them on and make sure they were COOL enough. After all I had a reputation to live up to!
